St. Francis de Sales, our founder, greatly desired that we be “daughters of pray
er in the Church” along with our foundress, St. Jane de Chantal, who believed that by fidelity to our call we will be drawn to a “simple gaze upon God” in prayer.
The celebration of the Liturgy of the Eucharist centers our community life of prayer in Christ.
Our Lady’s song of praise, the Magnificat, is echoed within our monastery in song, chant or recitation as we gather five times a day to pray the Liturgy of the Hours.
As contemplatives we nourish our times of monastic solitude and silence with personal prayer, inner attention to the presence of God, meditations on scripture and spiritual reading.
Nurturing awareness of God’s presence in all of life and in each other is strengthened by community faith sharing, a spiritual experience that deepens the bonds of sisterly love between us.
